From a real thermal case, we will highlight the use of evolutive and regular Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces (TPMS) for optimization of a heat exchanger produced by additive manufacturing. In this case, the air flow is non-regular on the surface of the heat exchanger due to a special design needed to reduce its global size. The solution for fixing this maldistribution is to use an evolutive structure for the heat transfer enhancement, flow repartition and AM supporting.
Key takeaways:
- Multiscale fluid and thermal design
- TPMS optimization
